Our Story
What if there were no wrong way to put on a shirt?
That simple question inspired IO&B.
When Michelle's husband, Drew, began experiencing challenges with everyday activities due to Posterior Cortical Atrophy (PCA), a rare form of Alzheimer's disease, getting dressed became increasingly frustrating.
Michelle imagined a shirt that could be worn any way, eliminating the need to figure out which side was the front or back, or which was the inside or outside.
She shared her idea with Katelyn, a low-vision optometrist who understood some of the challenges Drew was facing. Drawing on her lifelong passion for sewing, Katelyn began developing patterns and prototypes to bring the idea to life.
What started as a way to make dressing easier for Drew grew into something more: a vision for comfortable, versatile clothing that anyone could enjoy.
Because good design should work for everyone.
